Solar FAQs:
What Size System Do I Need?
RCL Enterprises Inc. tailors PV systems to the unique energy needs of each customer. A detailed Site energy analysis is necessary to determine appropriate system size. RCL does these services at no additional cost.
How Much Will I Save on My Electric Bill?
Optimally, your RCL system will be designed to eliminate your electrical bill. Restrictions on space, budget or sunlight exposure may affect the size of the system that is able to be installed.
Does My House or Building Have To Face South?
No south–facing systems are ideal, but southeast or south-southwest can be used with minimal loss of production.
What Kind of Permits Do I Need?
RCL Enterprises Inc. builds turn key systems. We obtain all necessary building and electrical permits for each system.
Do I need to mount the panels on my roof?
No, panels can be ground mounted also. Ground mounts can be used if there is too much shade on the roof, or if the roof contains obstructions, such as dormers or skylights.
How long will the system last?
Solar panels have a 20-25 year power warranty from the manufacturer. The rest of the system has a 5 year workmanship warranty. Inverters have a manufacturer's 10 year warranty.
Are the panels fragile?
No. Panels are made of tempered glass and are put through hail tests to ensure durability. Solar panels are regularly installed in Arctic and Antarctic conditions.
What happens when there is a power outage?
Most systems we sell are without batteries. These systems do not generate power when the utility is out. If backup power is desired, a battery system can be added at an additional cost. Most people find that the occasional outage does not bother them, so they do not purchase the battery option.
Can I put a solar system on a commercial building?
We have installed many solar systems at commercial properties such as farms, office buildings, and government facilities. Anywhere electricity is used can use solar electricity.
